EVERYONE WHO WORKS AT SOME CREATIVE ENDEAVOR HAS INSPIRATIONS AND INFLUENCES,  WHETHER WE

ACKNOWLEDGE THEM OR NOT.

MY PRIMARY INFLUENCE HAS BEEN MY FATHER,  WHO WAS AN ARCHITECT.  HE ONCE WORKED FOR LLOYD

WRIGHT AND I GREW UP IN A SERIES OF CONTEMPORARY AND MID-CENTURY MODERN HOMES, AND THAT DESIGN

ENVIORNMENT IS WHERE I AM MOST COMFORTABLE.

LIKE MANY, IF NOT MOST, OF THE PEOPLE INVOLVED IN THE VISUAL ARTS, AND MANY MUSICIANS,  I TAKE A LOT OF MY

DESIGN CUES FROM NATURE.  LANDFORMS SUGGEST STRUCTURAL ORGINIZATION (RESPECT THE SITE), TREES AND

STONES GIVE IDEAS FOR SHAPES AND TEXTURES.  FLOWERS, ANIMALS, BIRDS AND FISH PROVIDE ENDLESS EXAMPLES OF

DYNAMIC COLORS AND PATTERNS.

FINALLY,  I WOULD BE REMISS IF I DID NOT INCLUDE THE INFLUENCE OF THE BRILLIANT DESIGNERS AND ARTISANS OF

THE PAST.  FROM GAUDI AND GREEN AND GREEN TO WRIGHT AND SCHINDLER, FROM RASKIN AND MORRIS AND CHARLES

RENNIE McINTOSH TO SAM MALOOF AND GEORGE NAKAMISHA.  THEY AND OTHERS LIKE THEM ARE AN INFLUENCE ON

EVERYTHING I DO.
